First off this is a Rye Imperial Stout with Pomegranates, and this beer was brewed as a celebration of their 200th batch. The beer appeared dark coffee colored and had a tan colored head that was quick to disappear. I got mostly coffee with some very subtle spice from the rye and an even smaller hint of the pomegranate, so small maybe I was imagining it. The astringency of the dark malts (which was not over powering) could be tasted with some of the tartness of the pom. fruit. The rye helped had some body to the beer and give it a little more mouth feel.
