i had much higher hopes for this, everything else i have had from these guys has been awesome, so i was definitely looking for more, and as my drinking buddy put it, "why mess up a good ipa?" usually i am all for some wild yeast pitch, but in this case he might be right. it has all the makings of a good ipa underneath all this mucky sweaty thick immature brett, a bright citrus forward hop profile and a somewhat delicate grain base. the brett seems way overdosed, not that its all that funky or weird, heck its hardly even dry, but the beer is really cloudy even chunky or soupy from all the yeast in the bottle, and the flavor is off putting, just too much, and really not given the time to try to clean itself up, i dont know if this would improve with age or not, but the fruitiness it brings is lost to the almost grossness of it, a really strange thing, even covering up the hops that were supposed to be a big focal point. i am making it out to be worst than it is, but this was just not right to me, although its loaded with potential and from a highly reputable producer, i am wondering if i got one of the last bottles filled, closest to the bottom where all the sediment lies. not getting the belgian aspects others describe here either. i will revisit this one again down the track, but definitely underwhelmed for the time being...

Pours hazy golden in color with a big off white head. Floral, herbal, slightly soapy notes in the nose with hints of lemongrass. Taste has some herbal hop flavors upfront with some spivey Belgian phenols and a hint of tartness. Mouthfeel is somewhat bitter.

I had this beer on-tap in a tulip at Tenaya Creek Brewery in Las Vegas.
Appearance: medium orange with a nice cloudiness and a finger of creamy ivory foam. Beautiful.
Smell: pure Brett with a citrusy hop character. The funky and fruity elements play wonderfully together.
Taste: Bretty and a little buttery with a nice citrusy element and a hint of tartness. Very nice.
Mouthfeel: rich body with a good carbonation and a very nice creaminess.
Overall: this beer is wonderful and is just what I want out of a Brett IPA.

Poured gently at 45°F from a 500ml bottle (bottled on 01Sep15) into a tulip. Consumed on 30Mar16.
LOOK: 3 fingers worth thick foam. 3 minutes to a finger. Dull gold in color with an extreme amount of cloudiness. There is a a massive amount of small, rising bubbles that are supporting the undying foam head. Lacing is very thick and subtle in quantity.
SMELL: Very strong aromas of oranges, grapefruit, and tangerines are supported by mild mango, peach, papaya, apricot, hay, tobacco, and earthy yeast aromas along with subtle banana, white grape, pear, and bitter hop aromas.
TASTE: Mild hay, tobacco, orange, grapefruit, and tangerine flavors first entice the tongue at first sip. Mild bitter hop and earthy yeast flavors immediately trail as the citrus flavors grow slightly stronger. To my surprise, strong mango, papaya, peach, and apricot flavors roll out next and further add on to the ridiculous complexity. Mild pear, white grape, and subtle banana flavors end this symphony as all previous flavors persist, except for bitter hops, which grow slightly stronger.
FEEL: Somewhere between full-bodied and medium-bodied. Carbonation is moderate. Goes down somewhat smooth. Finishes with a strong and unpleasant dryness.
NOTE: What a multifarious brew! I wish I have had others of this specific style so I could establish a comparison. As far as the broad category of IPAs go, this was great! This was a little too bitter for me to rate any higher, and personally, that was the major downfall in this beer. The banana and clove flavors from the Belgian yeast were a great combination with the hop profile. I highly recommend this to any IPA and Belgian style lover out there!

Pours a huge foamy head on a hazy light straw body.
The aroma is flowers and lemon. Nice.
The taste is mild lemon and grapefruit bitterness, on the dry side.
The texture is crisp and fizzy.
Unique and enjoyable.

Consumed on January 27th, 2016 from a bottle labeled 2015-09-01, batch 40. So much for "brewed once". Poured into a Teku glass.
Honey golden and slightly hazy. A massive and fluffy white head forms instantly and provides the single most epic, thick and long-lasting crown I have ever seen.
Aroma is soft and powdery with rich esters. Juicy with banana notes and an earthy undertone. Pretty damned impressive.
Flavor features all the elements from the nose in addition to a sharp citric edge and substantial bitterness. A touch of alcohol presence.
Medium bodied and well carbonated.
Another winner from Tahoe Mountain.

The beer is a pale tannish yellow color. The liquid is quite cloudy. The head is white and medium-sized. The aroma is hoppy with fresh grain and a yeasty backbone. Big on lime, pineapple, peach and tangerine. Some pepper and grass. Fairly dry. Moderately bitter. Some nice hoppy flavor in the taste. Yeasty finish with that peppery hop note. Medium to light body. I’d actually prefer this beer dried out a bit more. It’s a solid enough effort, though.

Batch 376. Bottled 1/21/15. 6.2% ABV per the label.
Pours a murky orange with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of grain, citrus fruit, tropical fruit, earth, Brett, and funk aromas. Taste is much the same with slightly sour citrus fruit, grapefruit juice, tropical fruit, Brett, and funk flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of hop and Brett bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is still quite funky and tasty, even being almost 5 months old.
Serving type: bottle.
