4th of July weekend, 2015, I think Sheldon brought it.
Pours a burgundy color. What clarity? Head was a beige color, but it just couldn't get its retention game going, settled in at something more resembling a film of head. Aroma was a bretty red wine barrel. Had to check this wasn't a bottle of cooking sherry.
Taste of grape, oak, alcohol, the brett here isn't as chewy in the mouth feel a lot of bretts are. I thought the abv on this was like barleywine territory. Had that bitter sting to it alongside some acidity. Wondering if this was one of those 'fortified' wines that is like a boilermaker. Had an earthiness to it that was somewhat like an oud bruin kind of tobacco camping vibe. Dark fruit currant and cranberry like edge to it explaining some of the perceived astringency. Sourness was about a 3.5 on the 10pt scale.
Expensive stuff. Always glad when someone else splurges on this brewery.

A: The beer is rather hazy brownish red in color. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that died down, leaving a thin collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of muscat wine are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, having flavors of muscat wine along with subtle notes of vanilla from the barrel aging, the latter of which are most noticeable towards the finish.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is quite drinkable and does a very good job at hiding its alcohol. The barrel aging imparts nice aromas and flavors of red wine to both the smell and taste.

Pours dark chesnut brown with a sudsy tan head, good retention, decent distribution, good lacing. Smells of red wine, sour bretty funk, oak, blackberries and cherry. Taste is slightly astringent oak, subtle sourness, berries, slight chocolate. Thin to medium mouthfeel, effervescent. Overall a very good beer, but the finish is a bit too astringent.

Pours a murky dark Brown bit of amber also.
Smells a little funky. Grapes
Tart but subtle. Grape again
Overall a nice offering that leaves something to be desired but very drinkable.

Vintage: 4/25/15.
Pours a murky crimson-orange with a foamy khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Tiny dots of lace drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is sour with grain, dark fruit, white wine, wood, and acidic aromas. Taste is much the same with sour fruit, white wine, and buttery wood flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer with a great mix of sour fruit and wine barrel aged qualities all around.
