A: Slight sourness, followed by lots of coconut, coupled with dark roasted malts and cocoa.
A: Dark brown, almost black color with a very dense foamy head that dissipates leaves a very thin head.
T: Mildly sour roast and cocoa, followed by lots of coconut. The beer finishes slightly bitter.
M: The feel is slightly crisp, medium bodied with med-light carbonation.
O: This is one of Tahoe Mountain Brewing’s newest releases from their Récolte Du Bois (Harvest Of The Wood) series. This is a solid sour stout that balances sour cocoa with coconut aroma and flavors. Typically coconut is somewhat of a muted aroma and flavor and difficult to pick up, but in this beer the coconut is quite pervasive.

On-tap at THG. Snifter.
A: Pours a very dark brown color with a very active and foamy head that the bartender had to belabor for quite some time before serving me. The beer pours like it is infected.
S: Infected kind of berry tartness with undertones of chocolate and tons of vanilla and coconut.
T: Yep, I suspect this has to be a stout that became infected - the sourness just has that distinctive fruity acetone taste that is different from intentional wild ales. The infected tartness mixed with dark roasted malts and very greasy and delicious coconut. Tastes like an infected stout type sourness where it's not lactic acid or Brett, although it works. The coconut thankfully is super oily and full of greasy vanilla and coconut oil flavors. Mildly chocolate aftertaste.
M: Full body, greasy mouthfeel, with a splashy acetic type of tartness. Smooth and fairly soft carbonation with a touch of acidity.
O: An interesting beer. Tastes good but it really does taste like a chocolatey greasy coconut stout that got infected. And judging by the foamy pour, I bet that's exactly what it is.

On tap at Johnny's Bar in Los Angeles, CA.
Pours an opaque brown with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is slightly sour with dark roasted malt, cocoa powder, and dark fruit aromas. Taste is much the same with slightly sour cocoa powder and dark fruit flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of acidity and roast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with a nice mix of sour cocoa and dark fruit qualities.
