really stoked these guys have come to colorado, and i think its cool that they have launched the market with so many different bottled and draft options. i mean, i must have seen ten or twelve different beers already in just the week or two they have been for sale here. definitely a neat way to enter this highly competitive beer market. unfortunately, this double ipa is not some of their better work, i really didnt much care for it. looks alright, clear honey colored with a tall white head, but the appeal just about stops there for me. the hops are minimal in the aroma, it smells more malty and even yeasty than it should, not like an ipa at all. the taste is a bit sweet, thick, boozy, and oddly yeasty, like it was fermented way too warm or like a mild belgian strain is part of the mix. again the hop flavor is lacking here, bitter enough i guess, but i would not describe this as hoppy, its just sort of a muddled strong ale, and a real let down considering who made it. i have had way better luck with the wild beers from these guys, there seems to be a pretty significant dropoff between those and their more regular styles. maybe i just had a dirty line or something, but this was well below the quality i expect from tahoe mountain...

On tap. Poured slightly hazy/opaque golden orange. Big citrus nose and rich flavor with medium to full body. My first Tahoe beer, and I like it. Cheers!

Would have been ok if it was advertised as a Belgo DIPA. Ordered looking for an American DIPA. Big let down.

I dont like any heavy ipa with Belgian yeast it sort of overpowers the hops. Big fail if u ask me. Im sure some people like it but not me. Its a waist of hops.

Not much smell or head. Poured on tap at the brewery. Very floral. Lots of taste. Not to bitter. Really tasty.
