Oktoberfest beers can be divided into two main camps. The stronger and darker Marzen on the one hand; the golden and easier-drinking Wiesn on the other. The original Oktoberfests shared more in common with the former version, while the latter Wiesn variant emerged later in the 20th century to satisfy changing consumer tastes. Both types are delicious, but this version definitely leans towards the Wiesn style with lower ABV and delicate yet complex maltiness. An iron fist in a velvet glove. All you really need to know, though, is that it's bier for festing. Drink a liter or three.

12oz can. Poured out a clear, golden amber color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left sudsy lace. It smelled of toffee, caramel and floral notes. Sweet caramel and toffee up front with a mild bitterness.

L: clear copper body; foamy ivory head
S: lightly toasted grain, light caramel, biscuit, herbal hops, faint fruitiness
T: matches aroma with a bit more spicy hops on the finish
F: lighter body, ample carbonation, dry and balanced finish
O: I’d drink a few of these

Pours out of the can saddle brown, fairly clear with about an inch and half of head; strong lace. Smells fairly sweet and toasty and tastes just like it smells. Taste lingers in the mouth and some carmel notes pop through after a bit. I could drink well over 12 oz of this beer!

Oktoberfest pours a very clean amber color, with a nice long lasting, lacing head. Aroma is sweet, lots of bright malts, grain, and just farm like. Flavor is light, sweet, some sugary notes, a little off near the end. Good light body. Overall, its nice, lighter flavors, a little off.

12 oz can poured into a snifter. Pours a clear golden yellow with a large off-white head; decent retention and some lacing. Aroma and flavor feature bready malt with a hint of sweetness and a touch of grassy hops. Mouthfeel is moderately carbonated, clean, crisp, and creamy. Delicious and great style example.

12oz can shared with my brother
Looks good, thin film that sits atop a deep dark orange. Not much in the schnoz, big and bready and surprisingly hoppy. The aftertaste's da best part, warm caramel roll melting in your mouth

From a 12oz can:
Appearance: Clear gold, good head.
Smell: Sweet, bready.
Taste: Pretty sweet at first, fruity--apple crisp and concord grape, caramel. Gets breadier as it warms up.
Overall: I'm not the biggest octoberfest guy, but I do like to have a few during the season. This is a sweeter version than most, not as much hop flavor balancing it out. I still thought it was pretty good.

Pours a typical Oktoberfest colour with a thin head and bubbles that quietly rise with the carbonation. Smell is that of toast or rye dough. Taste follows the smell, with sweetness slightly taking over the bitterness...tastes almost like a rye dough in the glass. Finish is bitter yet smooth.

2022:
Aromas: As below. Mild. Sweet bread and honey. (3.50)
Flavor: Sweet bread and honey. Some caramel malts. Sweet honey predominates. (3.75)
Feel: Medium to heavier bodied. Drinks sweet. (3.50)
Compared to Odell Oktoberfest 10/2022: Pours similar, milder aromas. More baked bread and honey. Less caramel and booze. More flavor, less booze. Winner: Indeed
Compared to Ubran Growler Oktoberfest 10/2022: Pours lighter, milder aromas. More baked bread and honey. Less toasted malt and dark bread and pine spice. More smooth and less bitter.
Overall: Not as bad as I remember. Sweet honey and baked bread. Better than previous years. The flavor improves definitely as it warms.
2020:
Appearance: Pours a completely clear, medium, but radiant orange color. A strong white head. SRM of 12. (4.00)
Aroma: Mild aromas here. Some pale and caramel malts but that's about it. Comes off as some sweet bread, possibly with honey. Mild on the aroma. (3.25)
Flavor: Flavor follows the nose with sweet and malty flavors. Non-distinct. Sweet pale and caramel malts. Comes across and some honey. Maybe some Munich, but the sweetness overpowers. Sweet and mild on the flavor. Minimal to no hops nor bitterness. (3.50)
Feel: Medium-bodied. Mild carbonation. Feels heavy due to the mild carbonation. Detectable alcohol and sweetness. Mildly resinous and sticky because of that. (3.25)
Compared to Bahaus' Schwandtoberfest 10/10/20: Pours a lighter color. Milder aromas and flavors. Milder and paler. Honey rather than toast. Less toasty and sweet caramel. Milder overall. Both are not great beers of the style. Bahaus is more Marzen-style, whereas Indeed is more traditional festbier style (although not a good representation.
Overall: Not your best Oktoberfest beer. Very malty, but muted aromas/flavors. Pale and caramel malts give honey, sweet bread, caramel, but that's it. Minimal hops or spices. Two years in a row and this one is still missing complexity. (Final Rating:

2019:
Appearance: Pours a deep orange color with an amber hue. A foamy white head. SRM of 13. (4.00)
Aroma: Very faint aromas. A touch of honey drizzled on toasty bread with a hint of grass. But overall, very light on the aroma. (3.00)
Flavor: Sweet bread. A slight toasty and German quality, but not much. Just sweet bread. A touch of toast and caramel. A hint of dark cherry evolves too. Finishes with a dark cherry flavor that leans sweet. Light on the flavor though so doesn't finish too sweet. The flavor is missing complexity. (3.25)
Feel: Medium bodied. Low carbonation. A touch of sweetness lingers on the palate. (3.50)
Overall: There is a nice malt sweetness, but that's about it. Nothing on the aroma and the flavor falls flat. Lacks the toasty German spices. It's easier drinking for sure compared to many festbiers, but lacking the classic and complex German flavors. (Final Rating: 3.34)

Pours a clean, clear deep oak color.
Aroma is spicy with malty dark fruity notes.
Some nice toasty maltiness on the taste but a bit sharp with the alcohol.
Feels a bit dry and sharp on the finish.
I liked this a lot more the first time I tried it. This time it follows Odell IPA and the Sierra Collaboration and this is clearly below both of those two. Not bad.
