Indeed D.I.D.D.C.N.W.QM.S. (Derailed Imperial Double Danger Chocolate Nitro Whiskey Queen Milk Stout), Indeed Brewing, Minneapolis, MN. 10% ABV.
I stopped into Indeed's taproom to get a growler, but, seeing this, ended up with two. I can't resist a beer like this, however…
This is a beer that my friend Liz would hate, based on name alone. Tell her you've got a great Imperial Coconut Kumquat Berliner Weisse, aged on lychee and lichens, and she'll politely pass. Too many words in that name, thank you. Can't you just call it George?
Thick, solid blackness, rich voluminous headiness, vast cocoa-toned foam.
Profound cocoa notes, deep darkness, cavernous reservoirs of chocolate, dark rum, mollasses, and more. Whoa.
In the mouth, ever-so-much more. Dripping with chocolate, flooded with other dark flavors. Thick, rich and dense. Full-bodied, malty as they get, with a long, rich, interminal finish. Hops are high, but barely keep up with malt. Delicious. Exactly what I want from a …what is this, again?

Poured from a grumbler straight from the brewery which a buddy received in a trade. Jet black. Fantastic chocolate smell. Its similar to how Nesquik powder smelled straight from the can. Chocolatey smoothness. Creamy mouth feel. Overall, a pure delight.

From a growler. Dark brown with a khaki head. Smell is beautiful - Jack Daniel's soaked malt balls, vanilla, chocolate milk. A ton of whiskey character, toffee and spice, with no heat. Smooth and easy drinking if a bit thin as it warms. Almost seems perfectly designed for nitro. Killer stuff.

Poured from a Roadie aka 750 mL growler, non-nitro. Fresh today. Thick oily black brown beer with a thick mocha tan cap of foam that persists forever. Gorgeous. Sides of glass are thickly coated with lace. Heaps of figs, dates, raisin, chocolate, vanilla and cherry, whiskey, bourbon smells delicious. Taste is, right away, less impressive than the smell. It's bakers chocolate, even a bit chalky. Some fig newton. Bourbon, whiskey cherry/vanilla around the edges. Cherry becomes a bit more prominent before roasted malt appears late in the wash of flavors. Mouthfeel is a lighter than expected and not as velvety as the pour would suggest. Lower carbed. Overall it looks and smells fantastic but the actual palate is washed out by comparison. Not as impressive as some of Indeeds other big stouts, however I am enjoying this once and happy to take part.
