these guys are really finding their stride with the wild stuff. this is the first one of these i think to really blow me away, its obvious they are getting it dialed in. this is loosely a flanders red type base beer, but its lighter than many, without the residual sugar or the vinegar aspect to the souring profile. its then aged with raspberries and cherries, and the result is tremendous. pretty pink in the glass, the fruit has obviously taken over the color, hazy and heady. the nose is rad, tangy cherry meets funky brett and lemony very clean and very citrusy lacto, the raspberries add a nice sweet pucker too, great balance between the two fruits, my mouth is watering profusely. the flavor is very similar to the nose, with the fruit really being the most forward element, equal parts raspberry and tart cherry. the wood is more mild in flavor here than in others, more of a red wine vibe with the fruit and the red type malts in here. as funky as it is sour though, and dry and clean in the finish. complex and distinct for sure. awesome carbonation this time, something i recall being an issue in earlier releases in this series, this is very lively, completely on point. these guys continue to find a way to distinguish themselves from the growing mass of craft breweries in the twin cities with beer like this. this is one of the most impressive brews to date.

First Wooden Soul for me. Tart cherries, sweet raspberries, vinegar, pepper, earthy notes, tons of oak. Finish is very tart and slightly tannic. Great Flemish-style sour.
