Torus begins as our wood-aged saison and is then refermented with blackberries. Lift the glass into the sun and you’ll catch deep red rays of color that are reminiscent of wine and your nose will be met with wafts of blackberry wine and soft, creamy fruit. Upon the first sips, you’ll receive tart, blackberry, and floral perfume-like notes flowing onto your palate. Torus finishes juicy with a residual dryness as if it’s been fresh picked right off the vine.

one of the best beers i have ever had from indeed, which is really saying something. i love this in every way. the color is gorgeous, a deep saturated reddish purple almost making the beer look thick from the tap. its downright sexy in its own wooden soul teku glass, not sure i have seen beer this shade before, and it has a nice little head on top of it too. smells like blackberries off the vine, mashed down and juicy and pulpy and seedy, super authentic fruit complexion and they werent shy with it at all, it overtakes a lot of the oak and yeast nuance in the aroma. the flavor definitely has some sweetness from the fruit too, which i think is necessary to fully taste blackberry in beer, where so much of its character is locked into the fermentable sugar, so dry blackberry beer often doesnt taste like blackberry, at least in my experience. i love how much the flavor of the fruit carries through this, its huge, and while it does cover up some subtle funk and grain character here, i do think the tartness is pleasant, and i think the wood comes through plenty, red and port wine, dense oak, and subtle vanilla from it all compliment the fruit and the tangy pucker in here. less sour than many of the other beers in the series, but i dont miss it. an amazing expression of blackberries in beer, as fresh and assertive and natural as i have known. lovely stuff, i want some more! did they bottle this one?
