Our classic wood barrel-aged sour red ale is refermented on Pinot Noir grapes to bring you this elegant and balanced beer. Showcasing a complexity of grape flavors, notes of raspberry, cherry, and blackberry assemble on the palate. This silky, ruby red beauty has been aging to three years, slowly developing a graceful depth that mirros the classic boldness of Pinot Noir.

On tap. Poured a clear, red color with a pinkish head of bubbly foam. It smelled of grape, cherry, blackberry and oak. Sweet berry taste with tart cherry, oak and wood.

12oz can. Stamped canning date is '04/17/19'. Best by date is twelve months down the road.
Cloudy, dark ruby colored body. Fizzy, off white head provides a surface bubble show. No lacing. When the can is opened, there is a slight expulsion of fizziness, but no overflow.
Aroma is vinous, with vinegar and oak barrel. There is a sense of horse blanket and leather/tobacco funk. Also has a raspberry and cherry note.
Taste is tart and shows a lot of depth and complexity. Expresses the Pinot Noir grape, along with lemon. The fruity raspberry and cherry show up late, when the sourness settles down somewhat. The oak barrel and the funk are also there but not as much as in the nose. Dry and sticky end settles more on the oak wood.
Terrific fizzy mouth feel that propels the flavors through all parts of the mouth and tongue. Excellent carbonation.
This is a very well done slow sour, which has allowed the components of the beer to develop and express into a real complexity. There is a real correlation here to a very good Pinot Noir wine.
