It could have been because the beer was just over 2 years old (I didn’t realize until I got home with it), but certainly not a new favorite.
I taste all the flavors that it claims to have, but it does not come together well to make a good beer.

12oz'er canned almost a year ago
Dark red, clouded, small rim of khaki foam. Smell is dark leaves initially, but more chewy and fruity than anything. Same with the taste: rubber-y cherries, dates, prunes, figs, slight peach. Some tobacco and the hint of bourbon and leather. 80 IBU and the hopping is almost imperceptible. Smooth and dangerous at 12%

This neer pours A dark thick amber with a minimal head. The aroma is rich and sweet, with notes of brown sugat, bread pudding, cinnamon, raisin, dried cherry, and molasses. Flavor lead with brown sugar, fudge, caramel, and raisin. The mouthfeel is full and rich with minimal carbonation. Overall a delicious and rich beer - sweet than I expected, but utterly pleasant.

Murky brown color with minimal head. A little bit of lacing is left down the glass. The aroma and flavor is full of dried fruit. To compliment that there is more than subtle bourbon barrel influence. For the number if IBUs, I am not getting a lot of hoppiness. Some alcohol heat in the finish. Solid body and carbonation.

Bourbon barrel aged Imperial Red Ale from Indeed brewing here in Minnesota. Pours a murky brown with a reddish tint. Thin tan cap fades quickly leaving minimal legs when swirled. Aroma is cherry and bourbon. Flavor follows the nose with additional hints of stone fruit and oak. Feel is medium bodied and lightly carbonated. Overall a fine beer albeit at a pretty penny.
