I bought this beer never having had the regular pistachio ale. Smells amazing. Lots of head and is very golden - very opaque. Easy drinking with a proper amount of pumpkin spice and pistachio. Sessionable. Enjoyable. Great flavorful beer that won't leave you feeling heavy.

Scents of banana, clove, and nutmeg greeted me immediately upon opening the can, but dissipated quickly. A behaved, three-finger head of ever-so-slightly cream color developed and only slowly subsided. Pistachio, banana, nutmeg, mace (?) were noticeable when I huffed above the glass, but their scents didn't travel far. I was surprised it poured a translucent light gold amber; I was expecting something more coppery, or orange at any rate. Pistachio is definitely present from first sip to swallow, but the spices are not (maybe in the aftertaste... maybe) and the pumpkin may only be noticeable in a slight roundness or possibly as a subtle baseline, if one tries to imagine hard enough. It ends on a sour note, not wholly pleasant... tastes a little metallic. The pistachio is of the sort one finds in flavored coffees, perfumy and insubstantial. I'll drink this, but I'll not go looking for it.
