19.2oz can. Poured out a clear, golden amber color with a small, white head of foam. it left sudsy lacing. It smelled a little nutty with caramel, toffee and floral notes. Sweet caramel taste with nuttiness and a mild bitterness.

19.2oz can, less than a month old.
Clear, big fluffy head. Scent is sweetened pistachio, with just a hint of rotgut. Extremely sweet when compared with the original, but not too sweet for a big beer like this. More of a dessert beer than a cream ale. I love this.

Imperial Pistachio Cream Ale pours a copper color with a small but long-lasting lacing head. The aroma is very creamy, and a lot of sweet pistachios. The flavor is much the same: lots of cream, lots of pistachios, and warmth from the alcohol. Good feel. Overall, lots and lots of flavors, pretty sweet, with lots of pistachios.

Tastes pretty near and dear to the original, maybe a bit more hoppy or abrasive in a way. The alcohol is well hidden and the nutty classical pistachio flavor is there. Nutty, not the characteristic fruity type of pistachio.

From a 19.2oz stovepipe:
Appearance: Clear gold, big head.
Smell: Nuts, vanilla.
Taste: Moderately sweet then pistachios and vanilla cream soda. Not super sweet though. Beer-y grain in the aftertaste.
Overall: Grabbed a stovepipe to try as the regular pistachio cream ale is pretty good. Not bad at all, the 8% is hidden, it's not super sweet, and actually feels like a beer. Still, it's more of a curiosity than a beer I'll return to.
