Poured a slightly hazy, golden color with a fizzy, bubbly head of foam. It smelled of wheat, grains and grasses. It tasted of sweet wheat, toasted caramel and some citrus.

Poured from the can into a wheat ale glass.

Muted chestnut brown, with nice clarity, even a bit orange amber in color as well. Head is real big at controlled fist size, off tan in color with pill lacing as it settles, and some decent staying power. Quite dark and looking kind of Vienna to Steam beer quality.

Toasty nose with quite a nice sense of dry bread crust. Possibly Munich malts sensing, a bit of biscuit, and minimal caramel. Very clean mineral sense, and an almost zesty citrus note that is a good accent but stays away from IPA blasting. Seems to leave out the wheaty chewy character a bit, and leaves a good sensing Vienna Lager like quality.

Palate takes a real nice turn. Very nice fruity orange character, and the chewy body hits with less toast and dark bread sensations. Mild sensing caramel with citrus tangy quality. Big full finish on the aftertaste like a good juiced pale ale, with complimenting nutty and toasty malt character to match.

Quite a unique beverage, but a real good tasty summer slammer.

lord knows i am a lush for sorachi ace hops, so obviously i am a sucker for this beer too. a little too amber though to really showcase them, not that its a red or anything, but i found this one to be a little too malty to really demonstrate the best of this special hop. good head though on a beer too dark for what its trying to be. awesome aroma and taste though, you cant hide this hop, and even a sturdy grain base cant in this brew. lemons and buttercream and just a little earthy aspect to the malt, nice depth, less summery, but still kind of light considering these aspects. thank goodness the hops come through so well in the taste, these hops alone make this a summer beer, and i need no more of them, but its just a little sweet for the end game. its also fortunate that the carbonation is so high, or this would feel even heavier. i think it would be better packaged than on tap, especially where we had it (not going to name drop, but seriously, take care of your lines up there!). i like the hop profile, but as a summer beer, i think this is a bit much in a number of respects. anything with sorachi ace has my heart though...

12oz can, sample from the brewery.

Clear golden hue, thin white lacing stays around for a while. Lemon rind, grass, & bread crust in the nose. Deep crispness, moderate sized body, and has a little malt chew. Clean and bready, mild hint of lemony herbal hops. Very drinkable.
