Pours as it should, with lots of roasty coffee and dark chocolate notes on the nose. Long lingering finish with a pleasing coffee chocolate malt. Enjoyable, solid option.

Appearance is reminiscent of a Coke. Dark brown with slight reddish tinge on the pour. Small amount of fizzy tan head. Aroma is excellent. Plenty of roasted malts and what I would mistake for coffee. Very good smelling beer. Taste follows. Plenty of roast, relatively light and easy drinking. Good porter.

Pours a very dark brown, big frothy khaki head that faded quickly to a ring, no lacing. Roasted malt dominates the aroma, tongue gets that too, plus some molasses, and some licorice in the finish. Thicker that expected, smooth.

Excellent tasting beer, HORRIBLE bottling! Every single bottle I've bought has literally exploded when uncapped, spewing the contents everywhere. Ridiculous.

It's... okay. A little bland in comparison to porters that I love. Not bad by any means, just about as average as average can be.

Picked up a sizer of 12 oz bottles. Popping the top I get a waft of semi sweet chocolate, molasses and black licorice. Pours to a deep nearly opaque brown. Taste has great mouthfeel. Clingy chocolate up front a bit of zesty hopping in the middle and a mildly hoppy finish. Nice porter

All in all a fine example of the porter type. Those that dont understand the label probably havent spent much time in upper Michigan. I believe it is referring to the bike porters on Mackinac Island..who WILL almost run you over.
A great beer!
