On nitro (without a foamer) at the brewpub.
Black with a lighter brown head. Spotted lace and good creamy retention. Nose has gentle smoke, dark breads and dark malts, some milk chocolate as well. Taste has more chocolate, some fruit and bitter darker malt flavours. Smoke lingers in the finish. Medium body, sweet but bitter finish. A tasty porter, a little more smoke would've put this in my wheelhouse.

Gentle smoked porter beer and understated smoke taste. Pleasant to drink. For a nitro, for a porter, lighter mouthfeel.A little chocolate. Lacey and dark bodied. Decent drinkability.I would like something bigger bodied and bitter than sweet. Might be interesting on cask.

Bottle from The Beer Academy. Recipe 1 Batch 1. Bottled Sept. 17
Near jet black, just over one finger of tan head, some lace on the glass. Smell is full of smoke and roast, bakers chocolate, coffee, a bit nutty and a little bit meaty with more smoke. Taste has tons of roast and smoke, chocolate and a bit of bittersweet coffee, lightly bitter, nutty with a roasty/smokey finish. Light-med carbonation, medium body though at points was a little light. Overall this was quite a solid porter, tons of flavour and something I could drink multiples of.
