cool to have a stout like this not be 12% abv or something outrageously intense that limits drinkability, this is strong enough as it is, and it leaves open the possibility of having several of them, something that i often miss in these bigger stouts. this one has a velvety texture, a silky creamy sweetness running through it, both milk and dark chocolate elements but super well incorporated with the dark grains in here, a beautiful fusion, rich but not overly sweet, and sturdy without being heavy. some char and faint smoke, warm drip coffee at good strength, a little bitterness like baking chocolate has, and some toffee notes in the middle, sort of long boiled for density. smooth to drink on, very flavorful, and with more and more coffee coming out as it warms up, no harshness, biting bitterness, or acidity to it at all. a very well made beer that doesnt go over the top with the adjuncts and that is well constructed from a grain standpoint. a really enjoyable glass of beer, on tap at the brewery.

Got in a trade with The-Adjunct-Hippie. 12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 10/12/2017. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty medium roast coffee, caramel, brown sugar, and toasted dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of vanilla, cream, smoke, dark fruit, herbal, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, coffee, cocoa, lactose, and light earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty medium roast coffee, caramel, brown sugar, and toasted dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of vanilla, cream, smoke, dark fruit, herbal, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness. Very mild roast/char and herbal/spicy hop bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toasted dark/brown bread, light vanilla/smoke, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, coffee, cocoa, lactose, and light earthy hop flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet balance, and zero cloying/acrid flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/roast bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and slightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is nice. A touch thin, but nothing significant. Zero warming alcohol for 7.1%. Overall this is a delicious coffee/mocha stout. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, coffee, cocoa, lactose, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mildly bitter/drying finish. Nicely rich for the modest ABV. Really well balanced fruity/nutty coffee, cocoa, lactose, and well rounded stout malt complexities. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example.

12 ounce bottle into a snifter. Bottled 1/6/17, had 6/12/17.
Pours a somewhat opaque dark brown, with a half inch foamy head and some soapy cling. Looks a bit oily. Aromas of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, malt, vanilla, some caramel, light smoke and licorice. The taste is chocolate, vanilla, some caramel, less coffee than the nose, malt, cocoa disappears. Could use more malt. Has a bitterness to it, and not in a good way. Smooth, thin bodied for the style, appropriately carbonated.
Very good aroma, but the lack of malt and body hurt this.

Look: This brew pours a dark chocolate color with a light tan head, that doesn't stick around for long. Typical of a stout.
Smell: Sir Moch-A-Lot certainly lives up to it's name with a sweet creamy smell like a frothy Starbucks mocha. The scent is light, but surprisingly distinct, combining a milk chocolate note, a slight hint of what resembles a light roast coffee mocha with extra creamer, and what seems to be lactose sweetener. Creamy sweet, but not sickly sweet.
Taste: The cocoa used in this brew dominates the flavor profile as milk a milk chocolate note, but leaves just enough room for a slightly toffee and caramel flavor that's makes up for its simplistic taste. Not much going on, but what it lacks in complexity it makes up for in appeal to Starbucks and chocolate lovers.
Feel: Medium-heavy mouth feeling with some heavy carbination.
Overall: Certainly a very good stout in my opinion, especially for those who aren't keen on the more robust flavors of something like a Founder's breakfast stout, or a Guinness. However, it failed to stand out with look and smell where something like Dark Truth made itself memorable for its inky, shadowy color and rich, dark brown head. The taste while not very complex at all is still good and is more reminiscent of drinking melted milk chocolate than a mocha. A good find overall and it will more likely than not be making a reappearance in my fridge; Exile has brewed a satisfactory stout, but isn't blowing anybody out of the water any time soon.

12 fl oz bottle sealed with Exile pressure cap.
bottle neck says: "I was born on 02/13/2017"
poured into HF wine stem.
Appearance: black body with thick cap of medium brown head which quickly drops down to thin and uneven cap.
Smell: milk chocolates, lactose sugar, and roasty malts.
Taste: mild sweetness and moderate bitterness. The cocoa and coffee flavors are the main attractions of this beer and slightly dry in the finish. Dark chocolates.
Mouthfeel: medium body with low carbonation. Kinda thin. Not boozy.
Overall: Pretty solid and well crafted. Thicker mouthfeel would carry the flavors a little better. Still a pretty tasty stout here.
