Their first anniversary ale as chosen by their patrons among a selection of contenders... Definitely glad the Saison won the battle as its a style they've yet to introduce to the city.
A - Pours a clear golden colour, finger of head with some retention and no real lacing.
S - Citrus rind off the top, fruity yeast esthers, peppery spice, grainy malts and hints of bubble gum on the finish.
T - Much like the nose with the fruity yeast notes come through off the top with a solid citrus rind hop flavour that comes through alongside the grainy and bready malt notes. Hints of peppery spice linger with the sour citrus and a hint of cotton candy.
M - Medium bodied, smooth and surprisingly wet.
O - A fantastic example of the style with a solid flavour profile offering up a nice balance between sweet and bitter. I could drink this stuff all day and I'm so glad they chose to brew this one for their first anniversary ale. I hope there's plenty more to come, because I'm loving what they've been producing.
