The colour is deep gold (15 EBC), the liquid is clear. The three finger head is airy and off-white, it sinks slowly to a thick lid leaving some lacing.
The smell is hoppy with bitter notes of lemon peels and grapefruits, but also smooth phenolic Belgian yeast notes (and a touch of soap). It is crispy and balanced. It is fairly sweet with notes of apricots, pears and green grapes.
The taste is very much like the smell: Citric dry-sweet hops, pleasant bitterness and sweet fruits and a touch of butterscotch. Lemon curd, tangerines, orange peels, honey melon. There are yeast flavours, but they are mild and stays in the background. Medium to full body. Some notes of wax and tree sap in the aftertaste. Dry bitter notes, butter and cream candy plus some smooth notes of alcohol. The finish is balanced with sweet fruity notes.
The carbonation is strong, the many small bubbles buits some foam in the mouth. The liquid is semi-smooth and a bit dry.
A highly drinkable and very modern take on the Saison style.

A: Pours with all massive white lovely head, after a while the slightly hazy golden color appears. Rich lacings.
S: Malty and yeasty. Rich fruit, mostly citric; lemons and ripe apples. Some spice.
T: Lots of tropical fruits; pineapple and grapefruits. Some sweet malt. Faint spice and yeast.
M: Sweet but short aftertaste. Body is medium to full while carbonation is mild.
O: Well as a Saison, rather poor - too little funk and yeast. But I have no better suggestion for the style; this is a strange beer...
