Look: Black as night on the pour and in the glass and the tulip glass lip brings on a billowing tan head that slowly settles to a lid, leaving great lacing behind
Aroma: Roast, freshly baked brown bread, chocolate notes, earthiness, toast, and very light wafts of roasted tree nuts
Taste: Chocolate and warm bread kick it off but before they settle in and develop, a huge wave of roasted barley, nuts, cereal grains, and earthy hops crash in and take over, finally relenting in strength and joining in with the chocolate and bread. Closes with chocolate, toast, and earthy hops
Mouthfeel: Full, medium-high carbonation, and a nice, awesomely welcome robust and lightly dry finish
Overall: This is really delicious stuff. I think it was too cold for the aroma to do this robust porter’s taste and feel justice as this is awesome, tasty, and really well-made. I love these folks and have had this beer at their pub before but it’s been years and was totally worth revisiting. Highly recommended if you like robust porters.

Cask at the brewery tap-room. Imperial pint.
$6
absolutely black beer with a lovely creamy cask head!
Roasty , toasty malt aromas..with some cream in the back.
Taste the same as the aromas..bitter black chocolate and molasses with a dollop of double cream coffee...
Great smooth mouth feel..to be expected with cask.
A nice smooth porter and very drinkable..
