Look: Deep brown with red highlights and my aggressive pour only yields a modest light tan head that quickly dissipates to a film, leaving minimal lacing behind
Aroma: Peat-smoked barley, caramel, warm brown bread, earthiness, toffee, wafts of molasses, and light notes of dried dark fruit
Taste: Starts out with huge and deep bready malt flavors and caramel before the smoke-kissed malt begins to appear, shines on its own, and joins the fray. Earthiness, molasses, toffee, and some dark fruit notes come out to play and closes with more malty goodness and smoked barley
Mouthfeel: Full, very smooth, soft, medium to low carbonation, and finishes quite soft with only a light hint of ethanol. This is dangerously drinkable
Overall: This is delicious. I had only had this twice at these folks’ pub before and never seen it packaged so of course I had to cave as I love what they do with beer. A very tasty and well-made Wee Heavy that checks all the style boxes and is just way too tasty and easy to drink for a malty, smoky, 10% ABV Scotch Ale. Recommended

10 oz tulip glass,,from the brewery taphouse. $5 Very nice looking chestnut brown ale with a small tan head. Malty aromas mainly dark chocolate with sea salt and medium coffee..along with a small amount of smokey peatiness. Taste is far more balanced on the chocolate..alcohol fueled raisin end..the Scotch characteristics is there but subdued. Brilliant smooth mouth feel ideal for an hour spent chatting during the usual miserable dark rainy Oregon nights. Very very nice smooth sipping beer..bring me my pipe and slippers!
