This one pours a very dark brown color- it's just nearly black, but not quite. There's a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells like boozy and woody rum, oak, a little bit of bourbon, spice, chocolate, etc.
This has some interesting flavors, but the rum barrel adds some unpleasant boozy and spicy astringency, and the beer's body is not big enough to support the heavy barrel character. The base has some nice chocolate, but it's just a bit too weak to stand up to a "double" character.
This is medium bodied, too thin and weak for an 11.5% BA stout. It's a slow sipper due to the booziness.
There needs to be work done to the body of this beer to make it work. it's just too thin.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
