As expected, this beer was a nice dark brown color with a one finger head on the pour. Slight orange highlights.
Aroma was lightly roasted malts, very light coffee that strengthened as it warmed, raisins and other dark fruits, and a little bit of sweetness. Inviting.
Taste was much stronger than the smell led me to believe. Strong roasted malts and slightly charred barley, not quite smoky, and a little bit sweet with a lingering bitterness. Overall bitterness was higher than many RIS I have had.
Mouthfeel was smooth and it coated the tongue but it was also a bit astringent. The bitterness gave it a back bite after the swallow.
Overall a solid stout, full of flavor and pretty good. Good job guys.
