Look: Opaque dark orange with a nice, frothy head that pillows up and slowly recedes, leaving great lacing behind
Aroma: Orange, ruby-red grapefruit, wafts of berries, ripe peach, fresh cut grass, and a light honey-like sweet note
Taste: A resinous, oily hop bomb explodes on the first sip and brings tons of fresh squeezed citrus fruit juice and grass up front, which is quickly followed by waves of peaches and berries, along with some dank. Subtle malt sweetness tries to keep the hops in check and barely manages to do so as it closes with more citrus, wet hops, and peach
Mouthfeel: Full, slick, medium-high carbonation, and not dry at all on the finish but instead fairly soft
Overall: This is one delicious beer. These folks are awesome and I love their lineup which consists mainly of British ales but three different times, including now, in the last two years their fresh hop offering has blown me away. Tons of fresh hop character and a great showcase of Citra – citrus, peach, and berries, throughout. I didn’t know they made two fresh hops Citra IPA’s but was stoked to see this and glad that it again exceeded expectations. Highly recommended
