Look: Cloudy yellow to light orange with a spritzy head that quickly balloons up and settles to a large-bubbled pillow, leaving spotty lacing behind
Aroma: Orange flesh, juice and zest, Lifesaver candy, wafts of wheat, light citrus (non-orange) fruit. The orange note is easily dominating the nose here
Taste: Orange zest and lemony citrus starts it off with a bang and lingers for a moment before some wheat tries to fight its way in. It is thwarted by more orange – this time fresh squeezed juice and almost Lifesaver-like candied orange and this holds strong through the finish
Mouthfeel: Light and kind of watery, clean, high carbonation, and clean on the finish
Overall: This isn’t bad but definitely a miss for me. I love what these folks do but this is like a “light” version of an American Pale Wheat that was bombarded with orange and orange flavors. Wheat is lacking throughout, I don’t get any subtle yeast phenolics (almost like a Kristallweizen), and the orange is so intense that it overpowers everything and borders on coming across as artificial at times. Oh well, I’ll still finish it and you can’t win them all
