Purchased at the LCBO for just under $3.00 for a 473ml can. Served at 7deg C in a draught glass
A- Opens well and pours a 1" high off white head that is gone in 3mins or so. Nice dark brown colour. Filtered clear
S- Typical bock scent. Very good one at that I might add
T- Nice bock. Has the pepper and spice you are looking for. Glad I bought more. No heat, lots of secondary cinnamon and clove. I like this one.
M- Dry. Very dry.
O- I like this brew. Will definitely buy again as it is a nice palette breaker.
Food Pairing
This nice heavyish brew went well with....... Caramel corn. Yup! The sweetness cuts through this one and just lights it up!
Enjoy

Shrink-wrapped tallboy can from the LCBO; there's a packaging date stamped near the bottom but it's warped; not unlike the UPC label. Dec 01 2015 is my best guess. Served slightly chilled.
Pours an attractive brick reddish colour; crystal clear in complexion and capped off with one finger of smooth, creamy head. It lasts for 90 seconds or so, leaving behind a thin collar and wispy cap. It has a fairly bland aroma that leans toward the saccharine side (certainly not unheard of for the style); the malts are bready and lightly toasty, but caramel is the most prominent facet. There may be a touch of plum/prune and treacle in there, too.
The taste is a big improvement over the nose - caramelized sugar is still featured strongly, but the rest of the malt bill comes off more boldly as well. Lightly toasted, with bready, biscuity flavours and raisin-y dark fruit elements blending quite nicely. Finishes with herbal notes and a sort of nut-skin astringency, but the sweet, slightly boozy aftertaste overwhelms this almost instantly. Light-medium in body, with middling carbonation levels that exert a moderately crisp bite. Drinkable enough, save for the warming - but on a freezing-cold night such as this, that's not to its detriment.
Final Grade: 3.72, a B grade. Bock Me Gently is not an exciting beer, but it checks all the boxes. Bock boxes, that is. Sorry for that. This is not a style that I tend to favour, but it's also not one that Ontario brewers seem to tackle on a regular basis - so I consider Big Rig's interpretation to be a decent-enough stab at this strong German lager style to be worth a recommendation. This is can #3 for me, and that count will undoubtedly increase before this winter is through.

473 ml can served at cellar temperature into a pint glass. Purchased from the local LCBO for about $2.75 CDN.
Appearance - Rich dark amber colored, shades of brown too. Quite clear with very little visible carbonation. Pours a finger and change of ivory head, and the retention is reasonable not diminishing to a wispy foam on top for about five minutes.
Smell - Nose is lacking, a slight metallic twang and just some faint caramel notes. Maybe a little toffee thrown in on a grainy base, but the nose just isn't nearly as big as I'd expect.
Taste - Nice caramel flavors, some hints of dark fruits especially raisins and a subtle molasses element that builds. Definitely nailed the malt in this one and pretty tasty overall.
Mouthfeel - Carbonation is very light, body is a little thin for the style, yet the texture is still a little syrupy. It's not bad, it's just not quite on point for the style. Feel improves significantly as it warms from cellar temperature
Overall - Big Rig's Bock Me Gently isn't the most balanced, I think the aromas need to come out a bit more and the mouthfeel could use a little tweak (maybe a tiny bit more carbonation), but the flavors profiles are good and this could be winner in a style of beer that doesn't get much play around here yet always seems to hit the spot in the cooler weather.

Can: Poured a light amber color bock with a medium size foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of dry caramel malt with hints of residual sugar notes is pretty pleasant. Taste is a nice mix of dry caramel malt with notes of light cookie and hints of sugar. Body is about average with good carbonation. Nothing to write home about but well brewed bock.
