Yes on the style and quaffable with rough edges. Somewhat below the average of the style.

Pale gold, slightly hazed, spotty lace. Mild nose, some wheat and cloves. Same to taste - mild stuff. Pleasant sparkle. Dry metallic finish lands this one somewhere between Europe and North America. Drinkable but Not Big special.

Can: Poured a clear bright yellow color ale with a medium size white foamy head with light retention and almost no lacing. Aroma of sweet wheat malt notes with light cloves ester. Taste is a mix of sweet wheat malt notes with some cloves and more residual sugar notes than I was expecting. Body is about average with medium carbonation. Not bad but lacking some attenuation.

Pours light gold, dark yellow, a bit hazy with a mediocre head. Cloves and various spices on the smell. The taste is nice, it has typical Hefe flavours, but there are better versions of this style available.

Tallboy can from the LCBO; dated May 18 2017 and served well chilled.
This light wheat ale is foggy medium-gold in colour, with only one centimetre of loose, frothy white foam resulting from an intentionally rough pour. It fizzles itself out of existence rapidly, barely lasting to the 60 second mark before fading down to a sickly-thin collar and a mostly bare surface. As far as hefeweizens go, this one flubs the visuals - but at least its aroma is more along the lines of what I've come to expect from the style, with banana chip and honey sweetness playing prominent roles. There's also plenty of bready wheat malt sweetness, as well as hints of clove, grass and lemon.
It tastes ok, but that lukewarm praise is probably the best I can commit to - something just seems a bit lacking about this one. The profile is straightforward, with bready, grainy wheat malt sweetness providing the bulk of the flavour, alongside notes of ripe banana and muddled orange. Clove spice is featured strongly towards the finish, with some yeastiness and banana chip sweetness persisting into the aftertaste. Light-medium in body, with moderately high carbonation levels that give this brew a crisp, prickly mouthfeel. Refreshing to drink, but I find this hefe to be a little thin, both in terms of texture and depth of flavour.
Final Grade: 3.58, a B grade. I've had a fair number of Big Rig products - most of which I've liked, yet almost none of which have blown me away. Big Boot follows the very same template: this is a decently-made weissbier, but it is easily outclassed by almost all of the exported German equivalents (as well as several domestic hefes, for that matter). I feel like this review is sounding overly critical, so allow me to clarify - this is not a bad beer...it's more of a shrug-worthy, forgettable one. Worth a try if you appreciate this style, I suppose, but it's not something I plan to return to regularly.

473 ml can served cold into a pint glass. Purchased for around $3.25 CDN from the local LCBO. Appears to be have been canned May 17, 2017.
Appearance - very hazy golden color, small half finger of fluffy white head and some sediment in the beer that starts floating and sinks.
Smell - Some clove and banana, but also a minerally and near sulfuric aroma. Banana does shine through a little more after initial pouring.
Taste - Rich and creamy with a heavy, heavy dose of wheat. Banana and bubblegum to close, but not super balanced. Some yeastiness too.
Mouthfeel - Smooth, rich and rather creamy with a dry finish. Body is a little too heavy for the style.
Overall - Big Boot needs some refinement, but it's not a respectable hefeweizen that's very heavy on the wheat. While this makes for an interesting change of pace depending on your taste, some further refinement might vault it up your personal hefeweizen ranks.
