Draft at the brewery
Big creamy thick head with good retention, sticky lacing, clear golden pale color
Nose brings big hops, citrus, tropical fruit, little dank resin, mango, papaya, pineapple, tangerine, light malt
Taste brings more citrus and tropical fruit, papaya, mango, little pineapple, grapefruit, general citrus pith, light sweet malt and med bitterness, good balance, finishes drier and quite bitter
Mouth is med bod, higher frothy carb
Overall pretty good

L: Transparent dark tan with minimal head and some lacing
S: Bright peachy and mango fruity sweet tea
T: Big flavour without being overbearing. Peachy fruitiness and a bit spicy and with some slightly resiny grapefruit pith astringency, caramel and crackery malts
F: Medium body with a nice smooth thickness and light fluffy carbonation
O: Pleasantly surprised. Will need to revisit this.

473 mL can from Superstore; dated May 27 2020 and served barely chilled.
Pours with a cloudy, translucent, golden apricot-coloured body, atop which is seated an inch-thick crown of foamy white head. It recedes within the next five minutes or so, leaving behind a lumpy collar of frothy goodness, as well as a band of sticky lacing - lookin' good so far. As for the aroma, I'm getting notes of grapefruit and orange, alongside hints of passion fruit, melon and apricot. Leaning toward the juicy side, but with suggestions of grainy malt and grassiness.
A tasty, hop-forward brew that could easily be mistaken for a full-fledged IPA (vs. the APA designation on the label). Its grainy pale malt backbone barely even registers, with big, hoppy flavours of orange, white grapefruit, passion fruit and melon dominating instead. Hints of berry and stone fruit by mid-sip, with more of a grassy, floral, primarily pithy bitterness coming through nearer the finish, then lingering into a moderately bitter aftertaste. Medium in body, with low carbonation levels that weakly nudge the surface of the palate; feels soft and smooth on the tongue. Fair drinkability - I wouldn't mind another one of these, but on the other hand, I wouldn't want to drink it all night.
Final Grade: 3.96, a very solid B+. Shakedown is arguably Big Rig's best mainline brew... assuming that, like myself, you're a hophead first and foremost. I wouldn't say that this is a particularly novel or even unique brew, but the dry-hop process does its job well enough, resulting in a juicy, flavourful end product that I found to be quite enjoyable, and comparable in quality to some of my other favourite Ontario IPAs. Well worth a sampling.

Can: Decants a cloudy pale gold ale with a 1 finger white cap they lasts and laces well...Aromas are citrus, exotic fruitiness over a malty undertone and some yeast funk...clean smelling but pungent...flavor has juicy hop citrus bitterness in the front with enough chewy malts to balance (not cloying)...clean and increased bittering in the finish...not an NEIPA or a milkshake IPA just a straight forward unfiltered dry hop brew with Citra and Galaxy signatures ... great summer sipper with a very satisfying edge

473 ml can served cold into a tulip. LCBO purchase for around $3.20 CDN.
Appearance -Dark rusty gold color with middling haziness. A small finger of white head is formed on top, pretty good staying power and small amounts of spotty lacing cling to the glass.
Smell - Hops with a citrus kick, bits of orange and grapefruit followed up with melon and cantaloupe. Grassy and floral aspect also hanging around.
Taste - Mildly bitter, starts sweet with melon and cantaloupe before delving in for some earthy grapefruit and hints of pine resin to close. Pineapple seems to be in there somewhere.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied, rather dry finish. Carbonation is middling and about right for the style.
Overall - Very solid pale ale that highlights hops nicely. I particularly enjoyed it because of the cantaloupe and melon on the nose. Worth a shot.

Pours a bit hazy and orangey gold coloured. The smell is grassy and bitter. You can obviously taste the hoppy character but I also taste hints of cut grass and dandelions. Nicely carbonated and overall a very good brew

I bought a small non-descript bottle from the brewery and took it home.
It pours a dirty golden colour with a slight head that disappears pretty quickly. I’ve had this in the fridge for a day or so so I can’t get an aroma at all.
The flavour is crisp ale with a hint of citrus and a bitter finish but I could have warmed this up a bit before I had it. I think it would have really benefitted from it.
Overall, pretty good
