Combines a copious amount of hops in the whirlpool and dry-hopping to create a beer with low bitterness and a sessionable ABV, but a bold aroma and flavour. A zesty and complex aroma leads into a bright flavour, finishing clean and with mild bitterness and a hint of malt sweetness.

Hazy pale yellow, spotty lace. Pleasantly hoppy and fruity through and through. Lots of citrus and melon. A little sparkle on the palate omfortably dry finish. A nice drinking beer. Well done and worth a try.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated May 19 2020 and served slightly chilled. Labelled as "Hazy Four-Four", with "Hazy Session IPA" being either its placeholder name or incomplete LCBO inventory tag.
Pours hazy as hell, with a pale apricot yellow hue to its body. One finger of loose, bubbly white head vanishes almost as quickly as it formed, leaving behind a thin collar and a some scantly scattered specks of lace. I'm getting lime, grapefruit and melon on the nose, with hints of berries and maybe even a touch of grape.
Juicy and flavourful, with lots of grapefruit, orange juice and lemon at the forefront, joined up with notes of passion fruit and melon soon thereafter. It finishes pithy and grassy, with a touch of floral hop bitterness; the citrus and tropical fruit flavours remain prominent throughout the entirety of the sip, and briefly on into the aftertaste - which does dry off quickly. Light in body, with lively carbonation that enthusiastically prickles the palate well into the course of the glass; much more crisp and refreshing than your average hop bomb. A quality session IPA.
Final Grade: 4.06, an A-. As far as session IPAs go, Big Rig's Hazy Four-Four is a pretty darn good one - its hop flavours still manage to pack a respectable punch - something any decent NEIPA can manage, I'll grant you, but not so much the 'session' versions. All in all, this performs very well compared to its Ontario-based session IPA competitors, and I strongly recommend it to all hopheads seeking out a brew that sacrifices abv without necessarily sacrificing flavour.
