Had on tap. Somewhat cloudy pale yellow body with a white head that fades into a thick collar. Smell and taste are the same, harvesting as much citrus and flavor from the hops as possible without hitting the hop bitters too much, but instead as a swirling element to it all. Very drinkable given abv too. Reminds me of what ipas used to be. Feel is light, crisp, drinkable, but the finish is not as satisfying by modern standards. Still a fine, lighthearted dipa

Had on tap at HC brew pub. Tasty DIPA featuring centennial, Amarillo and citra. Nice beer; refreshing. Decent weight but not heavy.

I'm on a mission to find an Imperial/Double IPA that is not as hops-forward as many other San Diegan IPAs, for those who are interested in the full flavor and aroma but not as much bitterness. I think the Hop Sucker is a great recommendation for those in your group who are looking for this profile - if you're a hop head for the bitterness, maybe not for you.
If you've shied away from IPAs because of the bitterness, however, the Hop Sucker is a drinkable Imperial (high alcohol) IPA worth trying.

Initial taste is be very hoppy with little malts. I probably wouldn't classify this as a dipa. It sort of tastes like swamis
