I've now had 10 beers from Baderbrau. And despite my serious omission of not visiting their taproom that I go by frequently on the Elevated, I feel like I understand their strategy: don't be crazy, just try to be good. And, they are largely succeeding as a young brewer because they focus on the German brewing tradition... which does not encourage extremes.
Hip Hop BeatBock is a decent effort, but needs a few tweaks to earn its keep next year.
It Looks like a fine amber bock, and it even Smells that way... mostly malt. Taste starts to dip, possibly because the heavy bitter hops they advertise on the can... but it seems like something more that detracts. Anyway, a slightly metallic and unpleasant finish subtracts too much from an otherwise good bock. Fix that and I'll have it next time it comes out. Thanks.

Pours copper. Short, foamy, off white head that lasts a while.
Smells caramel Malts, light fruit and light earthy and nutty hints.
Tastes Caramel malts, light nutty and hints of dark fruits. Finish is dry with a malty and earthy linger. Dryer finish than expected from first sip. Medium body and fizzy medium carbonation.
