22oz bomber purchased at Iron Goat as a part of their $20 special for a pizza and two bombers. This version is brewed with Apricot and Lime, and is 4.6% alcohol by volume and has 13 IBUs. Only my 2nd ever Grisette.

Poured into a shifter, this was a cloudy, lemony shade of amber. The inch or so of eggshell-white foam on top receded after a few minutes, leaving some nice lace.

Grassy and "limey" in the nose. The apricot seemingly AWOL from the aroma. This reminds me a little of a gentle witbier, one at first lacking in the usual Belgian yeast spiciness. Is a Grisette supposed to have a Belgian yeast character to it, like a Saison? I'm of the impresseion that it's meant to be like a low alcohol version of a Saison, but I'm honestly not sure. In any event, Belgian yeast is initially not part of the nasal profile, but just ever so slightly emerges after about 10 minutes in the glass.

Grassy and herbal tasting upfront, wrapped in a thin, lime coat. Midway through the apricot emerges. Finish is dry and herbally bitter.

Light bodied, with a slightly effervescent mouthfeel.

This would be a nice warm weather beer. It's a pity I'm drinking it on a rainy spring evening. I'm still kinda fuzzy on what a Grisette is supposed to taste like (the only other one I've ever had was consumed about 4yrs ago), but it's refreshing, has a pleasing character, and is very sessionable. Hopefully, this is brewed again when things open up, as this would be a nice patio beer in the summer.

an apricot grisette, a beer i was stoked to see on their menu, i love the style, and its just not around as much as i wish it was. its a great beer, my favorite of the three i had here, and all of them were very good. the apricot is really subtle, the beer isnt wild but has some rustic character to both the fermentation profile and the grain bill, and its light and dry and drinkable as they get, really an awesome beer, more summer than fall, but never mind that, its wonderful with the tasty pizza in here too! hazy straw colored, whitewashed looking from the tap with an airy inch of white head, lacy as it drinks. aroma here doesnt show much of the fruit at all, instead its a lightly estery and very earthy saison yeast profile and some raw graininess, white wheat and maybe some rye, grounded and rustic, quite complex. there is a little funkiness to it without it being bretty, which i love, and the carbonation leaps out of the glass to tickle my nose as i take it in. i get just a little bit of the apricot in the flavor, its surprisingly mellow in here, and just flashes in briefly with a little harvesty sweetness and soft stone fruity character, works well with whatever hops are in here, also delicate, and adds a neat summery from the field essence to this, without it being really very fruity at all, like you could drink this beer and now know there was fruit in it pretty easily. a white wine note at the end to the yeast profile, some light white pepper character, and the rustic grain too, crackery and dry. great carbonation, lots and lots of flavor but also super subtle, refreshing and interesting at the same time. a nice understated beer in a cool style, very impressive overall!
