This is an interesting beer with an aroma of strawberries & hops. It pours a hazy pinky rose color with a medium head that stays for a while. It has a sweetness in the taste with slight strawberry and a small bite of hops with vanilla stronger on the finish. After drinking for a while it is really quite good. 60 IBUs Rated 5-7-2020

Poured from 16oz can into my Bell's tulip. Canned 5/2/22.
Appearance: hazy pinkish-orange hue with two fingers of frothy ivory foam atop. Pretty nice.
Smell: the strawberry and vanilla jump right out, that's for sure. There may be a little hoppiness here too, but it's overshadowed by the pretty big berryness of it all. It's what it says on the tin, but it doesn't read as IPA so much.
Taste: sweet with plenty of strawberry. The vanilla comes through as well, but mostly I think it just makes the whole works seem sweeter. There's a little bit of bitterness present, but it still doesn't read very much as "beer" to me.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a big, satisfying creaminess. Is this brewed with lactose? The label literally depicts a milkshake. But I like it a lot.
Overall: I feel like strawberry is among the hardest fruits to really nail in a beer. This is a worthy entry in that particular lineup, but not a beer I'm going to seek out again.

This beer is exactly what is says it is. In an experimental IPA realm of the milkshake variety, this beer fully delivers.
Look: A bit deceiving. Pours a dark, slightly translucent amber color woth a moderately foamy off-white head. Great retention and color is superb.
Smell: Strawberry milkshake. A slight acidic smell is felt on the back end but with a good whiff you can smell a large strawberry presence complimented with a mild vanilla.
Taste: As far as milkshake IPA's go, this is a winner. Taste is heavy on the candied strawberry-vanilla up front. Leaves a definite IPA feel but leans into the milkshake style very nicely. A slight malt back bone rounds out the flavor for a perfectly done beer.
Feel: very subtle. But a combination of the strawberry shake flavors is evident. Overall a decent mouthful.
Overall: Great milkshake IPA. This style is not for everyone. I have yet to find the perfect milkshake IPA but this one hits the mark the closest. Very difficult to add a lactose/sugar combo to IPA style of beer, however, silver city has gotten the closest to perfection that I have found yet.

generally speaking, i am not a fan of this style, milk sugar and vanilla dont often make sense in ipa, no matter how much everyone is trying to force this square peg into the round hole right now. that said, this one is what it says it is, tastes just like a strawberry milkshake, and probably deserves some applause for that, not a real drinkable beer, a small pour was plenty for my tastes, but its hard to not at least respect this one, a tip of the cap is due. the strawberry is jammy and concentrated to me more than real fruit, but with the vanilla and the lactose it takes on an almost melted strawberry ice cream vibe, but its not overdosed either, it leaves room for a little malt contribution so this stays in the beer realm. the hops are complimentary and kind of subtle here, well behind the added flavors, and i reckon its awfully generous to call this an ipa at all, but what is here is well selected and nicely restrained, no bitterness at all, el dorado evident. the vanilla isnt overdone either, and it is the unifier between the strawberry and the hops, lactose sweetens and creams this up, and while its definitely sugary, its not gross either. its also surprisingly clean on the swallow, no real fake fruit linger or teeth coating sugar left behind, and the bubbles keep it moving. im never going to freak out about this type of beer, but its nice that they can still be tastefully done, well refined, and interesting. this was impressive from a quality standpoint, even if i dont want to drink a whole one...

22oz bottle served in a WABL sample glass. Bottled 06/10/20.
Pours hazy amber, small head that doesn't seem to fade at all. Medium to high carbonation. Smell is strawberry shake.
Taste is interesting. Strawberry vanilla shake is bright and clear, but not really sweet at all. Nice hoppy bitterness.
Mouthfeel is a little thin, pretty dry. Overall, surprisingly interesting beer. I thought it would be one-note sweet and fruity, but it's really an IPA with strawberry and vanilla flavors.

Smells ripe and juicy! Nice opaque orange color with irregular head. Tasty!! Light fruitiness but stronger vanilla tones make for a very enjoyable IPA.

22oz bottle served in a nonic pint glass. Bottled on 04/07/20.
Look- Hazy orange/pink color, huge pinkish-white head with great retention and lots of sticky lacing, light carbonation streams visible.
Smell- Lots of strawberry, citrus, some tropical fruit and dank, vanilla, grainy malt, a small bit of floral/herbal hop presence. No pine to speak of.
Taste- Shipwreck. Old school west coast IPA meets a modern milkshake IPA. Hop bitterness doesn't fit what they were trying to do at all.
Feel- Medium bodied, fairly crisp, moderate carbonation on the tongue.
O- I can see where SC was trying to go with this but using the big C hops did them absolutely no favors. It would be a drain pour but that doesn't happen in my house so I'll suffer through this bottle and never purchase again.

22oz of Silver City's "Irresistible Bliss" Strawberry Vanilla IPA, a hazy IPA brewed with milk sugar, natural vanilla, and strawberry essence. Served in a classic pilsner. Beer is extremely cloudy and pinky orange in color, and forms loads of head. Aroma of strawberry and grapefruit -- maybe a strawberry lemonade? Pretty interesting actually. Flavor is something else however. It's a little sweet, but it's also got a potent IPA hoppy bitterness owing to 60 IBUs. What really bugs me though is the vanilla. It's not an oaky vanilla -- that would have been fine. It tastes like a chemical, cough-syrup kind of vanilla, or maybe like diet cream soda. Yeah, I kind of hate this. The flavor doesn't even really come across as strawberry, and I wish it had.
Recirculating the bottle for a second pour and to pick up even more of the fruit pulp which had sedimented out a bit. It's not really noticeably hazier. And the flavor isn't much better, though maybe it is a bit juicier and sweeter.
I like strawberries, I like vanilla ice cream, and I like Silver City IPA (especially Heroes For Ghosts White IPA). But all of those things would have been better separately, rather than drinking a glass of this beer.
