Quite an orange cast to the dark amber brew with plenty of pale tan foam in the tumbler. Sudsy mouthfeel and tangy, but also quite malty. There's just a hint of citrus peel in the aroma. It's made with pink grapefruit and the brewer says the hops are Azacca, Nugget, Cascade, Crystal, and Centennial.
There is a sharp note along with the citrus peel taste. At first I am thinking of rather old fruit, but I think the hops give it more resiny flavors that don't exactly meld. It's a funny mix of roasted malt and juice, but after awhile the grapefruit shines more. Not very bitter at all, for all the hop varieties. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at the Co-op market in Port Townsend.

22 oz. bomber @ $3.29. Pours a beautiful orange fire. Moderate head and lacing. Grapefruit and hops on the nose. Taste is more sweet than bitter...not that there's anything wrong with that, but you're not gonna' get a hold bomb here. Excellent porch beer for a warm Pacific Northwest evening.

I had this beer on-tap in a clear mug at Special Brews in Lynnwood, WA.
Appearance: medium orange hue with a moderate haze and a finger of frothy ivory foam.
Smell: sweet and rich grapefruit aroma. A bit rind-ey, but quite good.
Taste: sweet and candylike grapefruit. A nice balance between the hoppy element and the actual fruit. The more I drink it, the better it becomes!
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good, well-integrated carbonation and a nice creaminess.
Overall: this beer really works for me. Flavor is great and the drinkability reflects this.
