Looks fairly hazy with a dark yellow color to with some apricot highlights to it, pours with two and a half fingers of coarse, puffy yellowish colored head that doesn't have a great retention to it leaving a light, slightly watery patches of lacing.

Fruity nose to it, nice tropical fruit with a pineapple, papaya and orange rind aroma to it.

Flavor is fruity, tropical hop forward though not as big or dominating to the palate as I was expecting, just some nice orange and pineapple notes to it, however there also is a bit of some spicy saison-like yeast notes to it that complement the mild bodied, lightly sweet wheaty base that has a high amount of carbonation to it and a faintly soft mineral quality to it. Finishes with a lot of spicy yeast notes to it with hints of cloves and black + white pepper as well as a lingering slightly piney/ herbal hop bitterness on the back-end that increases as it warms.

Pretty good but felt to me more like more of a Saison / IPA hybrid then an East meets West coast IPA with its more dominant spicy yeast flavors.

A: The beer poured a nice gold colour with a good tint of orange, clean ipa look with some added haziness in the mix. Foamy with tightly nit bubbles that never seemed to leave the glass after letting settle.

S- A wonderful waft of tropical citrusy delight, notes of orange, fruit sweetness combines with a hint of some fresh pine.

T-Very juicy, tropical sweetness, mango, orange, then tart from some grapefruit while smoothly transitioning into a fresh pine taste with a slight bit of bitterness towards the end.

M- Medium bodied slight carbonation feel on the tongue and mouth, very creamy and smooth.

O- Overall this was for me an incredible beer and sad that it will no longer be available, I think they did a fantastic beer combining the west coast clean, fresh, bitter, foresty, and pine ipa's with some eastern hazy, tropical, sweet, and juicy deliciousness.

Haven’t done a review in a while - been too busy just enjoying my brews through Untapp’d but this one I think was worthy of nice little rundown.

Appearance: very nice golden yellow, with a slight haze, and a super foamy white head made of uptight bubbles that are reluctant to completely dissipate leaving behind some lovely crocheted lingerie around the glass.

Aromas: to me, smells like sweaty farm animals and fruity sweetness. Like a bunch of wet cows standing in the light spring rain of a orange and apple grove. There is a dew-like freshness to the leafy hops and the subtle resinous piney notes teeter in and out.

Flavour: Lots of citrus pith, balancing between sweet orange and tart white grapefruit. Also a good deal of forest earth bitters with milder piney-ness than most west coast IPAs.

Mouth: Rich and buttery. Smooth and creamy. With a gentile effervescence that is both present and simultaneously unobtrusive.

Overall: All things considered (including bibo’s ident that both brewer’s are from the west) both east and west styles I think are very well represented. There definitely is a wonderful Eastern buttery juiciness with the more pronounced West coast hoppy bitter that is very well matched in my opinion. Think about mixing a great west coast IPA with something like a Heady Topper and that is kind of the match up that hits me with this collab. Very nicely done in my opinion. Oh and how can you go wrong with the 90’s mix tape theme… can’t wait to review Baby Got Back!

650ml bottle, part of the new configuration of the current P49 'Brews Brothers' packaging - now a four-pack of bombers with a 'West Coast' theme. Green Flash is the guest 'brewer' here, which is kind of funny, as both of these breweries are from the far west, which renders the name here, er, kind of stupid.

This beer pours a slightly hazy, medium golden yellow colour, with three fingers of puffy, rocky, and somewhat chunky off-white head, which leaves some broken Continental shelf lace around the glass as it lazily subsides.

It smells of dank and resinous pine resin, muddled domestic citrus rind, a bit of flinty chalkiness, faint tropical fruity notes, and more leafy, weedy, and musky floral green hop bitters. The taste is gritty and grainy pale malt, muddled orange and white grapefruit pith, more wet rocky notes, and a sense of piney, leafy, and dead floral verdant hoppiness unrequited.

The carbonation is quite perky in its palate-tingling frothiness, the body a decent middleweight, and more or less smooth, as the purported dual-personality hops fuss about here just a wee bit too much. It finishes off-dry, the citrus and forest floor detritus bitterness making much hay out of it all.

Overall, this is certainly an agreeable enough modern IPA, but I'm not really seeing the implied cross-continental connection here - this is more West Coast wankery (my favourite kind), than any sort of Heady Topper emulation, IMHO. That sort of thing definitely exists around here, but, honey, this just ain't quite it.

Collaboration with Green Flash for Brews Brothers Volume 3.

A: Cloudy gold, adequate head.
S: Juicy citrus (East) with a more rounded tropical aroma (West).
T: Sweet and juicy, bitter and piney, all in one. I've never had all this in one beer before.
F: On the heavier side, just as I'd expect for an IPA.
