Clear and bubbly with a nice golden color, pours with a good three fingers of off-white big, frothy looking head that has a an amazing retention and leave lots of patchy lacing on the glass.

Nice light aroma to it, citrusy with tropical fruits and a very faint note of wild leathery/ barnyard yeast funk.

Lightly tart and fruity forward: pears, apples hints of white grape and faint tropical papaya notes.

Light bodied faintly wheaty malt notes with a mild sweetness and high level of bubbly carbonation.

Finish is a faint grassy, hay flavored hops with a lightly wild tasting saison yeast back-end: mildly earthy with faint barnyard hints to it and a lightly tart lactic & faintly leathery, earthy aftertaste that doesn't overwhelm the palate.

650ml bottle, part of the new configuration of the current P49 'Brews Brothers' packaging - now a four-pack of bombers with a 'West Coast' theme. The guest brewer here is Alaska's 49th State, who are a new one to me.

This beer pours a slightly hazy, medium golden yellow colour, with three chubby fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and bubbly eggshell white head, which leaves some decent webbed ice crystal pattern lace around the glass as it gently subsides.

It smells of bready and doughy wheat malt, a lesser cereal graininess, estery yeast, a muddled pome fruitiness (so, apples and pears, then), some mild white pepper and coriander spice, and an herbal, leafy, and gently perfumed floral green hop bitterness. The taste is grainy and bready caramel malt, a now lessened toasted wheatiness, canned pear syrup, overripe red apples, some laid-back yeastiness, fading earthy spice, and more leafy, herbal, and musty verdant hoppiness.

The carbonation is average in its merely supportive frothiness, the body a decent middleweight, and mostly smooth, as the yeast seems to be a bit groggy here, which is just fine by me. It finishes well off-dry, the sweetness of the mixed malt and fruity notes watching the other essences trail off into that good night.

Overall, this is a pleasant enough rendition of the style, one made more in the North American manner - the hops and larger fruity profiles suggesting as such. Still, fairly tasty, and easy to put back, especially given the essentially masked 14-proof wowee sauce contingent. Not particularly complex, but worth checking out.
