Pours a clear pale yellow/straw with 1-2 fingers irregular white head. Aroma is subdued - Pilsner malt, a bit of lemon, grassy, floral. Taste is more classic saison - grassy, floral sweetness, lemon, very mild peppery effect, slightly yeasty. Creamy bubbly mouthfeel - body just a touch thin - finishes crisp, dry, refreshing. Not exceptional but not bad at all.

473ml can - part of the 'Craft Cousins' mixed pack of collaborations with Alberta breweries. This one is with Calgary's Last Best, and is a 'wild Saison'.

This beer pours a clear, bright pale golden straw colour, with three fingers of puffy, finely foamy, and mildly bubbly off-white head, which leaves a few instances of streaky lace around the glass as it quickly evaporates.

It smells of gritty and grainy cereal malt, some musty yeastiness, faint clove and black pepper spice, and some very plain leafy, floral, and grassy green hop bitters. The taste is grainy and crackery pale malt, more dirty yeasty notes, muddled earthy spice, and more well-understated musty, weedy, and dead floral hoppiness.

The carbonation is adequate in its palate-supporting frothiness, the body a decent medium weight, and not particularly smooth, as that yeast character doesn't make a lot of friends here. It finishes trending dry, the yeast and crackery malt presiding.

Overall - yeah, this has all the attributes of a wild-yeast Saison, but it comes across as unbalanced and off-putting. Maybe it's just the profile of the yeast, but I surely would never want to drink this one ever again. And I can't even call out the name, as it's amusing, and well, necessary to the whole process.
