(16 oz? nonic pour through a sparkler at the brewery right now)
Old gold colored liquid, mostly clear; immaculate foam... muffin tinged pale malt nose with some dried flowers and fleshy orange rind... much the same on the palate, but with a supporting apricot note and some spicy back end bitterness; classic Hogshead underlying minerality... bit of fluffy foamy envelope in the mouthfeel, bottom light and airy, bitterness lends a light stun to the tongue... colors and overall flavor does remind me of the few true modern British IPAs I've tried; hoppy enough to qualify; enough punch from the hops and alcohol to register an IPA note; be interesting if this was ever so slightly soured (2513)

16oz on cask at the brewery 5-18-25.
Deep gold with some haze upon settling. 1” perfect white collar that leaves sheets of lacing.
Doughy malt and lemony citrus. Subtle but expressive.
Light body with a creamy carbonation and soft mouthfeel. Hops play well with the cask mouthfeel.
Flavorful and bright finish. Great beer experience.
Very Good.

Crowler from the brewery. Keg, not cask.
Clear, pale gold. Tiny bubbles support a thin head. Floral and pine smell as well as flavor. Firm bitterness. Slightly oily mouthfeel.

From the cask at the brewery, pint glass served at cellar temperature.
Pale malt color with hint of orange, moderate haze. Fine, dense head to the top of the glass. Plenty of lacing. Mild carbonation.
Glorious fresh hop smell, floral. Toasted malt, hint of orange.
Nicely balanced taste, bitterness apparent from the hops but still lots of floral notes. Malt character present: biscuit and toast. Beautifully balanced, flavor not complex but full. Finish is very clean.
Feel is smooth, medium-light.
On cask this beer is simply delightful, dangerously drinkable, and true to the British IPA style. I enjoy the diversity of American ‘IPA’ styles (west-coast, NE), but a proper British IPA, especially cask-conditioned, earns its place among any of them.

I was expecting a lot more from Galaxy and Hogshead, but it was good.

On cask there is no better IPA anywhere. On CO2 it's also great.

From Notes.
On Cask @ backcountry pizza and tap.
Hazy amber with a fluffy white head.
Muffled hop and caramel aroma.
Served perfectly warm. The bitterness bites at the back, preceded by grain and light fruits.
Silky smooth.
Good show from an outfit I'm glad to now be familiar with.

this was the least impressive of the beers i enjoyed at hogshead, it just doesnt have that it factor that pretty much all the others do, lacking a distinguishing element for sure, but still delicious and well textured from the hand pull, such an awesome format for hoppy beer, not done enough. golden in color, maybe just darker, but well lighter than the copper colored english ipas i am accustomed to. bitterness is the predominant hop feature here, both in smell and taste, some grassy dried leafy character too in the taste, but bitterness is the name of the game here, freshness is also apparent. lighter medium body keeps it drinkable, but the other beers here are so interesting and dynamic and style bending and enhancing that a relatively plain jane ipa, as nice as it is, is harder to be enthusiastic about here. dryer finish than many of its peers, and a nice but mild english yeast profile here. well made, but not overly inventive, im guessing it wasnt supposed to be, they do enough of that.
