22oz bottle. Redhook sampler. Batch number came off. In-laws say they've had it for years. Erupted on opening.

Pours dark brown with no head and almost no carbonation. Smell is peppermint, anise, coffee.

Taste is chocolate and a little peppermint, some coffee, more peppermint as I sip.

Mouthfeel is medium weight, moderate grit. Overall, not bad.

Stallion 10% can, no date.

Pours dark mahoghany brown, black in the glass with ample tan foam.
Lasting surface coverage and spotty lacing around the edges.

Aroma is roasty with a little bit of caramelized sugar and medicinal peppermint oil. Rich feel, smooth and creamy, a little astringency at the end. Lingering bitterness and mint. Dark chocolate and peppermint flavors are dominant, trace honey in the aftertaste. Overall it’s pretty good, definitely has a substantial feel to it, though the mint is sort of medicinal.

The smell is Christmas in a porter: chocolate, peppermint, caramel, bready malt, and sugar cookie. Taste taste is creamy and chewy malt up front, with peppermint and all things sweet on the finish. Great body with thickness and texture, perfect for winter time

Unknown vintage; drank 2/14/15 on draft @ One Trick Pony.

Black/brown appearance.

Tan head; minimal lace.

Cognac, plum & red licorice nose.

Medium thick mouthfeel.

Cinnamon, milk chocolate & mild booze heat flavors up front; strong candy cane notes emerged as this warmed up. A tasty, balanced, just-too-boozy winter warmer vibe here.

Taste: Massive malty, spicy, sweet peppermint, with dark chocolate and fruit cake notes. Black Brown color and opaque, bold malty cocoa aroma.
Full almost heavy body.
Tall foamy tan head with a ringed lace.
Warming and chewy with an alcohol kick.
