Pour is dark brown and the mocha colored head dissipates immediately and leaves no lacing
The taste is very coffee oriented, a little dark cocoa powder and dark bread toasted. There is a little life at the swallow where a hop dares to show itself.
The feel is light, very easy quaffing, but the lack of carbonation makes it feel flat.
OA, bought a 6 pack and won’t have any problems finishing them, it’s a sessionable stout with a surprising amount of flavor.

Look: It pours very dark brown with a light brown head. It has very good head retention.

Smell: It has aromas of roast and chocolate.

Taste: It has roasted flavors with some chocolate and low dark fruits that are most like plums.

Feel: It has a creamy texture that is quite smooth going down.

Overall, a very session-able stout.

12oz can stamped 0151 (5/30/20) poured into a tulip pint glass at fridge temp 6.2% ABV per can label. The beer pours dark brown to black with no light penetration and mocha colored head. The head recedes to a medium ring of fluffy bubbles. The aroma is mild with dark chocolate and dark roasted malt. The taste is straightforward roasted malt with notes of dark chocolate, coffee (none added) and finishes with a mildly ashy, earthy medium bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium to thin bodied with average carbonation and a dry finish. Overall, good. Great beer for drinking without pretention or pairing with sweeter whiskies. Hard to find a straight up American stout anymore.

 

This was a very light Stout, but the taste was awesome. I enjoyed it.

Low end of the stout scale ... approaching a porter. Very enjoyable.

 

Happy New Porters & Stouts Sunday (Week 729), as I diverge from Happy New Russian Stone Beer Sunday (Week 729)! This was a recent drop-off from my local, in-person trader, @tone77 in further support of The CANQuest (tm).

From the CAN: "Est. 2012".

Having Crack!ed open the vent, I decided to go with an inverted Glug just to really get things moving. That certainly worked in terms of movement! It rushed up, immediately foaming away, almost unCANtrollably. Suddenly, it beCAN a pseudo-cascade & started settling into just under three fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, deep-tan/light-brown head with excellent retention. It slowly fell away, leaving massive lacing in its wake. Color was Black/Opaque (SRM = 44), allowing ZERO light penetration. Nose was very roasty, somewhat smoky & more towards coffee than chocolate. Mouthfeel was barely medium, a little light for the style, especially when the brewery boasts of "creaminess". The taste was not nearly as bitter as the nose had led me to expect. Instead, it was very chocolaty, almost as sweet as milk chocolate, but thanks to what bitterness there was, the sweetness was held in check. I was a little torn on this one. I found myself wishing that they could have found a better balance among all of these dark malts. It was not bad, per se, but I was left feeling unfulfilled. Finish was semi-dry, but again, with a tweaking of the recipe to get a better blend from the malts, this CAN be improved, IMHO. YMMV.

 

Nice brown color with decent head, not much lacing. Mild roasty nose, flavor was very good roast flavor, fairly dry finish . medium to light bodied. Good solid everyday stout, light enough to enjoy will a meal.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a black color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of chocolate, some roasted malts. Taste is of roasted malts, light chocolate, a touch of smoke. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall it's a bit on the mild side, but is a decent beer.

Poured from 12oz can into glass. Canning date is stamped as '80218'.
Dark cola brown colored body, with mahogany edges when back lit. Two fingers of light tan head, which settles to creamy, bubbly cap. Lattices of lacing are left behind.
Aroma of roasted malts and milk chocolate.
Taste has the roasted malts and sweet chocolate, plus a little fruity from the hops. End of taste profile has some very slight bittering coffee.
Thin mouth feel. Good carbonation.
Really is quite sweet for a stout, and is too thin of a body. Okay overall but one is enough.
