as a beer i really like this one, but as a farmhosue ale, its not so great. i dont need it to be wild and sour, but it cant be this clean! this is straight up belgian pale or belgian blonde type, plenty of fruity and even spicy belgian yeast flavor here, maybe even the leading flavor, but there is none of the saison yeast, let alone a more rustic or wild yeast profile, and the grain base is shiny golden, really light, apparently not wheat based at all, and lacking the cereal balance i like in my saison. as a belgian single type, its really nice, very flavorful and well brewed, showcasing a clean belgian yeast quite well. notes of light lemon and white grape in there, a little white pepper and straw, summery and light. i want more interesting yeast here though, and i want some wheat malt character, those are requisites for me in saison and farmhouse style beers, even without brett and bugs. way too clean overall to scratch the itch we bought it for. i like the hoppier finish for the style, dry and bitter at the same time. i like the beer, i just want it to be more interesting if its going to use farmhouse in the name. i dont think thats unreasonable...

Very tasty, though as the other review noted, a lack of funk. That aside, this is a very smooth, delicious Belgian style ale with pleasing taste and aftertaste. Crux doesn't always follow style to the "T", and this is an example of that. Taken as a beer to be savored, this offering is right up there; as a "farmhouse" ale, ehh...not so much.

Very boring run of the mill beer. not very farmhousey in any respect. Very belgian flavors, like a belgian pale ale, with little to no hop or farmhouse funk i was looking for. Not bad
