a really wonderful beer, and so awesome to have it on tap at their brewery, i saw some super spendy bottles around, but it was reasonable at the source. its a grisette base, low alcohol and earthy, with open capture fermentation from their gorgeous property. its wild and funky, bretty and mature, light and bright, mildly tangy, and rather complex. i love beer like this, and i think the execution here is extremely professional, it was one of my favorite beers we had here. light orange in hue, minimally hazy, and with a very airy and active white head, almost wispy looking, and with nice retention. it smells like dried stone fruit, peaches in particular, and carries some dried herbal notes as well, a real pasture lands sort of vibe to the grain, i can almost smell it blowing in the late summer wind, and the brett has a ton of funk to it, farmy and musty, but not dominant in its intensity, just super nuanced to me. in the flavor there is a thin lemony pucker that runs through it, never sour, but a little bit mouthwatering and cool with the fruity brett. some orange and peach at the end, a grassiness present the whole time too maybe from noble hops, and a neat, seemingly multigrain base that might feature some rye and some raw wheat, but everything real mellow and well integrated. the yeast is the star, but the base beer is rad too, creative and different. i love this low alcohol fermentation forward stuff, my favorite style right now, and this overall is really excellent. likely to cellar super well too, maybe ill grab one of those pricey bottles next time i see one and find out. i hope (and assume) that by numbering this, that there are more of these beers in the works. this yeast profile should work well in a range of different base beers...
