After months ripening in red wine barrels with a tangled blend of brettanomyces, lactobacillus, and pediococcus, we infused our wild farmhouse ale with a tart twist in the form of Oregon blackberries. Dripping with juicy berry notes balanced by a funky earthiness, this creative mix of wild cultures is a sour beer lover’s delight.

500ml capped/green waxed bottle served in a SIP Fest 2020 Snulip. Bottled on 4/8/20.
Pours slightly hazy dark purple / pink with small to no head. Not much carbonation. Smell is sweet tart and jammy fruits.
Taste is tart, jammy, definite berry, a little funk but not much, maybe a little oak. Slight bitterness in the finish.
Mouthfeel is actually a little thick and chewy, interesting, makes it feel more jammy. Surprised to find I think it works. Overall, nice and tasty beer.

Mostly clear ruby red with a pink tinted white head. Smell accents the bretty funk and lacto well with iced blackberry, oak, red grape, subtle soil, and vinous booze. Taste is sublime with addition of red currant and lime to the blackberry star, grape must and funk emerge out of layers of red wine and oak, subtle earth stays but is way down the line for intensity. Cool, tart, playfully acidic and funky feeling, finishes drier than it began, light and sneaky crisp, almost lambic like in that way.
