Traditionally, the Belgian style saison was brewed for those long summer nights after a day's work in the fields. Our namesake farmhouse saison is no different. Featuring flavors reminiscent of stone fruit, orange zest, and white pepper, this slightly dry complex ale serves as a drinkable yet satisfying celebration no matter the occupation or occasion. Prost!

Pours a finger of creamy white head into my Willi. Retention is decent. Lacing is ok. Body is a murky golden-brown, low visibility, with a moderate nucleation. Looks good, more like a biere de garde than a saison though.
Nose is rich clove, raisin, honey, maybe some lemon. A little odd, but smells nice.
Flavor certainly leans on that clove, and hints at bubblegum. Honey pairs with an almost caramel maltiness. Whispers of vanilla. No pepper or other “spicy” notes, drinks pretty soft. Tastes quite nice.
Carbonation is modest for a saison. Body is relatively light. Bitterness is mild. Well-attenuated, but has a prominent perceived sweetness. This almost creamy mouthfeel fits the unassuming flavor.
Drinkability is great.
Overall a really smooth saison, not very spicy, has a desert-like feel to it.
