A thanks to the incredible woodychandler for this beer. Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of guava, light strawberry. Taste is tart, strawberries, a touch of guava, harldy any bitterness to speak of. Feels medium/bodied in the mouth and overall it's not bad, but definitely not what I expect from this style.

And now, I embark on yet CANother brewery horizontal as a part of The CANQuest (tm)! It's all very exciting.
From the CAN: "Boss Collaboration Series #15"; "Newburgh Brewing Company and Friends"; "Strawberry Guava NEIPA"; "KCBC's Zombie Fruited Sour Series makes us swoon … so ZombieBoss is a NEIPA packed with Strawberry & Guava"; "Drink Local".
I did some in-CAN agitation before Crack!ing the vent to ensure that any flocculate was back in suspension. CAN't have an NEIPA without haze, right? I gave it an aggro C-Line Glug when it beCAN to pour rather clear. I wound up with just under two fingers of fizzy, foamy, soapy, tawny head with very limited retention, quickly falling to wisps. Color was a deeply-hazy/slightly-cloudy Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7) with a LOT of floaties in evidence. This was all rather surprising since I was expecting a very cloudy, pinkish-colored beer. Hmm. Nose definitely smelled of guava and a light tartness, but I was not getting strawberry & that made me sad. Mouthfeel was medium, but lacked the creaminess usually found in the style. The taste was nothing like any NEIPA of which I was aware - it was quite tart, not really sour & fruit, not hops, were the focus. This was quite the oddball. It was very tart & easily discernible as guava with some other fruit, but I could not identify it as strawberry. Finish was tart & dry, but not really an NEIPA, Boss. YMMV.
