Had on-draft at the brewpub... poured into a 1/2 pint glass
L: Clear light golden pour. Nice foamy white head... solid lacing.
S: Yeasty... light grains and mild citrus. Not picking up the advertised gin botanicals in any meaningful way.
T/F: Just like it smells. A solid saison... light malts.. grassy with lemony citrus and spice. Tastes good... but where's the advertised gin flavors? Light bodied... easy drinking.
O: A nice saison... but not what was advertised. No significant gin botanicals, and when you're promoting a gin botanical saison that's kind of a problem (and sounded intriguing). This is pretty much indistinguishable from their regular saison, so from that standpoint it was a disappointment.
