Drank at ABR 2014 on draft.
I applaude excelsior for trying this, as I would love to see more sours available in MN, but this one missed the mark. Its sooooooo hard to do ginger 'right' and its so easy to get it wrong. This beer was overwhelmed by the ginger to the point that all I got from this was ginger and sour. Not a great combo. I think the base beer had some potential, but the ginger overwhelmed everything else going on. I like sour BA beers, but the barrel couldnt even shine through the ginger.
So props to excelsior for trying it, but next time you brew it, leave the ginger for my asian food!
