L: dense copper orange. Small head.
S: hop forward with a pine profile.
T: hop presence is there. Tastes like a low ibu ipa.
F: feels like the backend is missing. Like a hot girl with no ass. Almost watery
O: decent beer. Not something I would seek.

brewed with the dude from surly apparently, a cool idea and a style we see very little of. i alway thought a braggot was necessarily a strong ale, in the higher abv range, but its cool so see one on a beer menu anyway. this is really hazy, honey colored, and with a tall white head, real thick and lasting, pretty in the glass, substantial looking. aroma here is really hoppy, much to my surprise, citrus notes of orange and lemon, but also some straight up bitterness it seems too. the honey is less aromatic than expected, i get the malted grain as much as i do the honey, at least in the nose, pale and a little sweet, but not super interesting. the flavor picks up the honey aspect quite a bit more, a little floral and springy, but i feel like its over hopped, at least from the standpoint of appreciating delicate honey qualities, this ends up feeling almost like an ipa in the end. its well carbonated, a little richer in feel, and seemingly a bit bigger than its listed abv. i wanted a bolder honey flavor here, and i think the hops need to be scaled back to bring this into balance. im not even totally convinced the two are completely compatible in this context. good brew and quite original, but i wanted more from this...

10 oz pour on tap
Pours a golden color with a white head and lacing. Smell is honey, malt and tropical hops . Taste follows the nose citrus forward with sweet malts some pine but mostly tropical hops . Well carbed with a sweet finish and hoopy infusion. This is an IPA border line @IPA with the sweet malts , i liked it alot. Im really happy i did not buy any bottles or go to the release, would not trade for this one on tap is good enough

Pours an off orange honey color with a full head of small white bubbles. The aroma is nice, citrus fruits, and pine. The flavor is the same with the pine becoming a bit to forward for my liking. Nice and crisp on the tongue. I wouldn't buy again especially at the price point. Nice that the profits are going to bee research.

White head. Lots of lace. On tap.
Sunset burnt orange color.
This is more of an IPA than a braggot, taste wise. Tropical and juicy notes. Floral hops. Bitterness. Lots of honey to provide some sweetness.
A fun beer to try! Very enjoyable! Enjoy FFF, Todd!

Poured from a 750 ml waxed bottle into a chalice.
Appearance: Pours a somewhat hazy amber orange. Moderate amount of bubbles and a solid finger of off white head that settles into a thin patchy layer.
Smell: A juicy and dank hop driven aroma with a scent of citrus, pine, and honey. Lots of hops upfront with a citrus scent of orange peel, tangerine, grapefruit, and lemon. Dank and earthy hop scent of pine resin and grass. Sweet scent of the honey comes through. Malt hints of caramel, grains, and cracker with some yeast. A very nice aroma.
Taste: Like it smells, a juicy and dank hop forward taste with notes of citrus, pine, and honey. Big blast of hops with citrus notes of orange peel, grapefruit, lemon, and tangerine with some pineapple. Earthy hop notes of pine resin, spice, and grass. Some sweet notes of honey. Malt notes of caramel, cracker, and grains along with yeast. A pretty good taste.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Juicy, oily, and drying.
Overall: A very good twist on an IPA. The honey adds a nice kick to the juicy hop dankness. Sad to see Todd leave and looking forward to what he brews for Three Floyds.
