Grumpy Troll Troll's Gold Lager
Enjoyed on tap at the Grumpy Troll. Served cold in a shaker pint glass.
A) Pale straw yellow. Nice finger of soapy head, which settled to a dusting. Several rings of lace.
S) The aroma is grainy/bready sweetness, with a pinch of salt. There is a pleasant grassy scent to this. Not an aroma that makes you want to keep your snout in the glass forever, but it's enjoyable and fresh.
T) Follows the nose pretty closely. The malt makes it's presence felt initially, followed by nice grassy/floral hops flavors. This checks in at 6.2% ABV, pretty sturdy for a pale lager, but the alcohol is not detectable.
M) A lighter body with nice crisp carbonation. Refreshing and easy drinking. Semi-dry finish, and clean aftertaste.
O) Glad to make it back to the Grumpy Troll. This was a nice tasty lager. Perfect for a hot humid day. I like this better than Grumpy Troll's Captain Fred.
