Bottle I brought to share at the LA Beer Talk bottle share.
Bottling date: 12/12/14.
Pours a murky dark brown with a foamy beige head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, candied citrus zest, bourbon, and wood aromas. Taste is much the same with candied citrus zest, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, vanilla, bourbon, and wood flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of wood bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and sticky mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer with great sticky sugar and bourbon barrel aged characteristics all around.
Serving type: bottle.
